Winter Blues Coming To An End

It's officially Spring!  Although I will admit it doesn't feel like it quite yet. Yes, the days of -20 are behind us, but we did wake up with a dusting of snow the other day. I find the weather doesn't fully turn until Mothers day. Ok... sorry I feel like I always start my blog posts talking about the weather... Thank you for reading my weather statement lol

This past Sunday I spent the day in Niagara on the lake, I walked around, bought two pairs of hats (oops) and had lunch. It was my first outdoor outing of the year since its been too cold and snowy this winter to walk around outside. I wore this navy blue 1940s coat that I magically found at a thrift store... its hands down my best thrift find ever! I layered it over a 1940s dark grey suit set, a set that I've worn a million times since I bought it. I kept the accessories pretty minimal with a late 1930s navy blue felt hat, brown shoes and a brown 1940s leather clutch.

Somewhere In My "Memery"

[GIFTED] The perfect 1930s inspired shoes!  Ah I have been eyeing these leather Oxfords from memery for a while. They are perfect for every day because they have a 5cm heel, meaning they are going to give you a bit of lift, but will be comfortable and stable. Perfect for walking around all day. They also look beautiful, with the hand cut pattern surrounding the cotton laces. The colour is also beautiful and will  match basically everything, I honestly see this brown shade a basic. These shoes are amazing for any vintage lover because it will help your outfits look more authentic. If you are interested in getting your own pair of the Emma shoe from memery click here!

I wore these shoes with my dark grey 1940s suit set. But it was a bit cooler this day so I layered my blue 1940s coat that I got at the Toronto Vintage Clothing Show. It was my first time wearing it but I already know this coat is going to be a staple in my closet, it fits me beautifully but has enough room to layer over thicker pieces this like wool suit set. For accessories I grabbed by 1940s blue hat and navy cord bag. It was the perfect outfit for a November day. Let me know what you think of this look in the comments below, and also tell me if you have a favourite shoe from memery!

Diamond Deco

[gifted] As the warmer fall days come to an end, I wanted to style one final look before we start the winter/holiday outfits. I needed to show you guys this incredible dress from The House Of Foxy, it's the Cora dress in Diamond Deco! I am obsessed!  Like you don't understand, I love this dress!!  Starting with the fact that its a warm/red-ish brown, which you guys know I prefer over black. It has a square/diamond pattern in a muted yellow. The dress has a modest deep V neckline with flounces that decorate along side it. And it all comes together with a little yellow string that can be tied into a bow. It has 3/4 sleeves which is perfect for a fall day !  However I think the best part is that its a bias cut dress meaning its super flattering because it drapes the body in all the right places.

I paired the dress with a yellow 1930s hat that just happened to match the yellow on the dress perfectly. For shoes I kept it in that red-ish brown tone so I wore my Marjorie shoes from American Duchess. I grabbed a brown velvet clutch, for some reason I've been really into clutches this season I think they are so chic. And I topped it all off with some cream 1930s gloves. Let me know what you guys think about this look in the comments below!

Before Dinner

My favourite time to walk around the city is when the sun is coming down and the lights from the buildings shine. Its like stars scattered across the buildings. I wore this outfit to go to dinner with my friend Mikayla!  We went somewhere low key so I kept it pretty casual. I wore this black 1930s dress with small white polka dots. It's a bit hard to tell in the photos but the dress has slightly puffed sleeves with sheer lines. I added a 1930s ruffle collar to the dress to give it a more complete look.  For accessories I wore small white crochet gloves and a black velvet handbag. It was a fairly warm evening... which is crazy to say in October but alas ! Let me know what you guys think of this look !

Ending The Summer With A Polo Match

Ok I know I said the CNE is the unofficial end of summer but the warm weather has been hanging on and I'm so glad it has ! I went to a polo match on Saturday and the weather was perfect ! Honestly it was the perfect day. Except for the fact that I had a wardrobe malfunction right before leaving and had to change last minute ! You'll have to watch my youtube video to see my - beautiful - original outfit. I switched outfits to this 1940s pink skirt set. As I was running out the door I grabbed this 1940s hat that I thrifted the day before (I know I couldn't believe it either !) The pink and maroon  paired perfectly together because they are in the same colour family. I also grabbed my round 1930s inspired sunglasses, that I think really help complete the look.  Let me know what you guys think of this look below !  As well as make sure to watch my vlog below!
